The first baby of 2018 at Stewart Memorial Community Hospital in Lake City has arrived. Madilyn Joan Lenahan was born to Tabitha McCrea and Daniel Lenahan of Sac City, Iowa. The New Year baby entered the world at 11:50 PM on Monday, January 8th, weighing 6 pounds, 9 ounces and is 19 inches long. She was delivered by Dr. Susan Hornback, Board Certified Family Practice and Obstetrics Physician. Madilyn Joan was welcomed by siblings Ariel, age 11, Reilly, age 6, and Cooper, age 2, her grandparents Allison Dammers-Lynch, Todd Vauble, Laura Vauble, and her great grandparents Bev and Kenny Vauble.
To celebrate the birth of the New Year baby, the family was given a basket full of gifts. Items included diapers, and baby wipes all donated by Stewart Memorial Community Hospital and Ibuprofen, Acetaminophen, Gas Relief Drops, Saline Spray, D-Vi-Sol, Desitin, Orajel, Vicks Baby Rub, Lanolin, Gripe Water, and Calmoseptine Ointment from Community Pharmacy.
Gifts given by SMCH employees included booties, hair band and My First Tooth Box from Jenni Macke; changing mat, taggy blanket, pacifier and receiving blanket from Housekeeping/Laundry Department; a board book from Maurine Thieszen; an ISU Cyclone hat from Linda Luhring; hooded towels and wash cloths from Cyd Hatfield; bib, book and toy from Cindy Carstens; bath mitt and Happy Pill toy from Jayne Wilhelm; first Christmas ornament from Lisa Findley; handmade fleece blanket from Carmen Ludwig; laundry basket, hangers, onesies, baby wash & lotion from Jennifer Snyder; decorative plate and stacking action blocks from Carmen Schamel; a hooded towel from Pam Hospelhorn; baby shampoo & wash, binki holder and rattle from Lisa Wiederin; scrapbook and blanket from Casey Wetter; and a photo album, baby lotion, and color changing spoons from Jenifer Grossman-Risdal.
