SMCH Auxiliary

If you've heard of our organization and weren't sure what we're all about, please take a few minutes to see what a small but mighty group we are!

For over 40 years, the SMCH Auxiliary has been a vital part of the health care mission of our hospital. Their fundraising efforts have contributed hundreds of thousands of dollars in direct contributions and equipment donations to the hospital. Funds are obtained through the annual membership drive, snack bar and gift shop sales, and several other fund raising events. In 2001 the auxiliary made a five year pledge of $100,000 for the purchase of endoscopy equipment for the surgery department. With many fund raising hours this ambitious volunteer group completed that pledge on time and will start a new project for their fund raising efforts this year.

Services offered by our volunteers include Meals on Wheels, staffing the snack bar and gift shop, mail delivery to patients, coordinating the community's bloodmobile, sewing of neck pillows, knitting caps for newborns and chemotherapy patients, and purchasing colo-rectal screening kits and "Link to Life" units.

Auxiliary members have been a part of every major expansion of the hospital, contributing time and money to fund drives and volunteering that "little extra"caring service that makes SMCH outstanding.

By sharing their time and commitment to the hospital, this great group of volunteers make it possible for the hospital to stay current with their equipment purchases. They are driving force within our orgainzation and a vital part of our health care team!
