Dietary

The Dietary Department at SMCH provides food and nutritional care to hospital patients, staff, families, visitors, and the Lake City and Lohrville Meals on Wheels programs.

Since 2008, patients at Stewart Memorial have ordered “what they want, when they want it” from our Room Service menu. Meals and snacks appropriate to each patient’s diet order are delivered to the bedside by Dietary Staff between 6 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. daily. A patient’s guest may also order from the Room Service menu for a charge. Nourishments are available to patients after hours as needed.

The Junction Cafeteria offers weekday brunch selections from 7:30 to 10:15 a.m. Monday through Friday except holidays. Staff and the public are welcome for meals from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. each day.
The Junction boasts a fresh salad bar, deli sandwich bar, fresh fruits, soups and sides, with selections changing daily. Delicious desserts and ice cream are also offered.

Medical Nutrition Therapy is available by appointment. Management of hyperlipidemia, diabetes, and celiac disease are among the therapies provided. Our Registered Dietitian and Certified Diabetes Educator, Maurine Thieszen, who has been at Stewart Memorial since 1978, provides this counseling.
