Dr. Susan Hornback Dr. Derek Duncan

Thank you for choosing McCrary-Rost Clinic and Stewart Memorial Community Hospital for your prenatal care. The birth of a child is a treasured memory and we are honored you have chosen our healthcare team to be a part of your special experience.

Our team of physicians, physician assistants and nurse practitioners are dedicated to working together for you and your baby. We are committed to:

  • • Providing a devoted, experienced healthcare team to take care of you and care for your baby before, during and after delivery.
  • • Offering educational childbirth classes to help prepare you for a positive birth experience.
  • • Beautiful labor and delivery suites with a calming environment, whirlpool bath, extra sleep accommodations, high-tech security system and room service meals prepared fresh when you are ready to eat.
  • • Providing comprehensive and sophisticated services you expect with a personal touch.

Although every pregnancy is different, the majority of our expectant Moms can look forward to having an appointment scheduled with us about once a month until reaching 28-30 weeks, followed by visits every 2 weeks until reaching 36 weeks, and then weekly visits until delivery. In some circumstances your appointments may be more frequent due to complications, high-risk situations, or simply to alleviate any lingering concerns you may have as a Mom-to-be. Most of your visits will be routine and consist of weighing you, checking your blood pressure, urine, measuring your uterus, listening to your baby’s heart beat and asking you questions about how the pregnancy is progressing.

Here at McCrary-Rost Clinic we use a team approach to caring for you and your baby. At the beginning of your pregnancy your Primary Physician will oversee your care. Throughout your prenatal care you will see all of our Obstetric Physicians so they will be up to date on your pregnancy as our OB team shares in coverage of Obstetric calls during nights and weekends.

Thank you for entrusting us with your care during this special time. If you have any questions, please call us at your convenience at 1-800-560-7500. We are happy to answer any questions for you and we look forward to welcoming your tiny miracle.

Take a Tour of our beautiful labor and delivery unit where you and your baby will see each other for the first time. The tour is free of charge and can be set up at a date and time convenient for you. For a tour please call Jenni Macke, RN at 712-464-3171 ext. 6285.

Our goal is to provide quality care throughout your pregnancy and help you have a joyful experience delivering a healthy baby.
