All images made in Lake City can be transmitted via direct digital capture to Des Moines in 10 minutes. All radiologists in this group are board certified and fellowship trained in various specialty areas. Our ultrasound department is staffed by an ARDMS board certified sonographer. Our ultrasound equipment is able to provide OB patients with a 4D image and other images on a CD for them to share with family or print images providing their provider orders the exam. The DEXA scanner measures the density of the spine and hips that are the most frequent sites of fracture. This study helps identify osteoporosis risk at a much earlier stage than previously possible. The mammography department is inspected by the Food and Drug Administration and the Iowa Department of Public Health. The department is equipped with a new digital machine that meets all FDA guidelines and offers state of the art imaging of the breast.
