Surgery

The new surgery center at Stewart Memorial Community Hospital is state-of-the-art and designed with patient safety and comfort in mind. There are three new surgery suites, two new endoscopic suites, and three private patient recovery rooms.

The post-operation care area features individual rooms for patients and not one large room divided by curtains. The private rooms offer a private bathroom, telephone, and television for patients.

In addition to the new recovery rooms, the recent surgery center expansion increased the number of rooms to perform procedures. All equipped with the latest in technology and designed with patient safety, comfort and function in mind.

The surgery center is staffed with Board Certified Surgeons, three orthopaedic surgeons, two certified nurse anesthetists, manager Bonnie Herrin, R.N., three R.N.’s, surgical technician and two nursing assistants.

The surgery center is staffed for surgery five days a week for elective procedures with emergency coverage 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Includes Same Day Surgery, Central Sterilizing, and Post-Op Recovery Unit.
