Hospice is a special kind of care that brings to terminally ill persons and their families comfort, support and compassion in a manner that respects and cherishes the dignity and uniqueness of each individual. When cure is no longer possible, hospice can provide highly skilled care to patients and their families in the familiar surroundings of their own home or residence, including nursing homes.
Our goals are to affirm life and help patients live until they die by encouraging them to participate in life as fully as possible.
To provide medically supervised care that focuses on pain and symptom control to help the patient remain comfortable and alert.
To provide a healthy emotional environment that encourages open communication and planning regarding death.
To keep the patient and family in control of their own care by enabling them to remain at home for as long as they desire.
