SMCH gears up for Trivia Night

Stewart Memorial Community Hospital’s Trivia Night fundraiser was won by a thumb during a nail-biting tie breaker last year. Team Clue (Trenton Klocke, Stacy Bartles, Shelle Kent, Wade Voith, and Karie Knouf, Malory Klocke, Gabe Knouf, and Dave Dawson) took the honors for best dressed team and earning the most points. Tickets for the popular February 3rd, 2018 event are available by calling 712-464-4183.

Before the introduction of the hair dryer in 1920, what common household appliance was promoted for its hair-drying ability? How much hay was eaten daily by Jumbo, showman P.T. Barnum’s famous 6-1/2 ton elephant?

If you like to put your brain to the test or enjoy playing games, join the Stewart Memorial Community Hospital Auxiliary for their fourth annual Trivia Night. Trivia Night will be held on Saturday, February 3rd in Lake City. The event will be an evening of fun trivia questions, food and a cash bar.

Trivia Night teams put together their own team of eight people, and work together to come up with their best answer during the three rounds of trivia. Quiz Master Brad “Big Daddy” Addison will announce each question, and if a team can’t decide which answer is right, they can use a pre-purchased mulligan to put down two answers. Teams can also earn extra points by decorating their team table, wearing costumes, and by participating in a game of name that tune. There will also be games like Dead or Alive, where photos of celebrities are shown and teams have to guess whether or not they are still alive or not, and a game of true or false questions.

Tickets, which are only sold in advance, are $25 each and include dinner, dessert, coffee and lemonade. A cash bar is also available. Doors open at 5:45 pm at Opportunity Living with trivia starting at 7:00 pm. Money raised from the event will assist in our goal to fund ADA upgrades in restrooms and an exam room at each clinic.

Gather up your family and friends for a night of fun! Limited tickets are on sale now and can be purchased by calling Mary Ludwig at 712-464-4117 or Jayne Wilhelm 712-464-4183. More details for the event are posted on the SMCH Facebook page which can be found at
