Stewart Memorial Hospital & Clinics is proud to recognize Kendra Davis as the May Path to Excellence Award recipient, honoring her dedication to patient care, teamwork, and continuous growth within the organization.
A familiar face in the community, Davis was drawn to Stewart Memorial by its strong culture and deep local roots. Having grown up in the area, she felt a natural calling to serve her community close to home. She credits the organization’s family-oriented environment and supportive atmosphere as key factors in her decision to join the team.
“The people you work with greatly influence your overall job satisfaction,” Davis shared. “I take pride in building strong relationships and contributing to a positive, fun, team-focused workplace.”
Since joining Stewart Memorial, Davis has expanded her role well beyond her initial responsibilities in radiology. While she began by performing imaging services such as X-ray, CT, mammography, bone density, and fluoroscopy, she has embraced a broader perspective on patient care. By learning workflows across departments including orthopedics, cardiology, and pain management, Davis has helped strengthen collaboration and enhance how radiology supports care throughout the organization.
Her commitment to Stewart Memorial’s core value of being team-oriented is evident in her daily work. She consistently supports colleagues across departments, contributing to a more efficient and positive experience for both staff and patients.
Throughout her time at Stewart Memorial, Davis has also demonstrated adaptability and innovation. One notable improvement includes learning to draw lab work directly from IVs, reducing the need for additional lab visits and improving convenience for patients.
Her motivation to continue growing is rooted in her desire to better serve patients and strengthen the care provided at Stewart Memorial.
“I stay motivated by seeking opportunities to learn something new every day,” Davis said. “Growing my knowledge helps me better support our patients and improve the services we provide.”
Stewart Memorial Hospital & Clinics congratulates Kendra Davis on this well-deserved recognition and thanks her for her ongoing commitment to excellence, teamwork, and compassionate care.
Stewart Memorial Hosts Interactive Career Day for Local High School Students
On May 2, Stewart Memorial Community Hospital welcomed 25 students from three area high schools-Glidden-Ralston, Manson Northwest Webster, and Southeast Valley-for an engaging and hands-on Interactive Career Day aimed at sparking interest in healthcare careers among students in grades 9-12.
The event offered students an in-depth look at a wide range of career opportunities within the medical field. Throughout the day, participants rotated through various hospital departments including the operating room, obstetrics, outpatient infusions, wound care, laboratory, radiology, emergency services, rehabilitation, dietary services, and information technology.
Interactive, hands-on learning was a key highlight of the event. Students practiced suturing techniques, administered IVs and injections, explored the labor and delivery process, and even X-rayed pig legs in the radiology department. These immersive experiences provided a realistic glimpse into clinical procedures and the vital roles healthcare professionals play every day.
“It was a privilege to engage with such motivated and curious students,” said Ashley Mork, nurse education director. “We hope this experience helped them envision future opportunities in the medical field and inspired them to consider a career in healthcare.”
Stewart Memorial remains committed to supporting the next generation of healthcare professionals by offering immersive learning experiences and cultivating early interest in medical careers. Plans are already underway to host another Interactive Career Day this fall.
