Restore and Renew: Rockwell City Clinic Expansion
Stewart Memorial Hospital and Clinics is investing in the future of healthcare in Rockwell City through the Restore and Renew Rockwell City Clinic Expansion.
This two-phase project will create updated spaces for primary and specialty services, improve access to care, and provide a dedicated rehabilitation center designed around the needs of patients and families.
The project represents a significant investment in the Rockwell City community and will help Stewart Memorial continue providing care close to home for generations to come.
A Two-Phase Project
Phase One: New Rockwell City Clinic
The first phase of Restore and Renew includes construction of a new Rockwell City Clinic located next to Fareway on County Road D20.
The new clinic will provide space for:
- Family Practice
- Behavioral Health Services
- Laboratory Services
- Radiology Services
- Community Pharmacy
The new facility will feature updated exam and treatment spaces, improved patient flow, private behavioral health rooms, and expanded outpatient areas. The additional space will also provide opportunities to welcome additional providers and services to the Rockwell City community.
Construction is expected to be completed in fall 2027.
Phase Two: Expanded Rehabilitation Services
Once the new clinic is complete, the existing Rockwell City Clinic will be renovated into a dedicated rehabilitation center.
Currently located in the lower level of the clinic, rehabilitation services will move to fully accessible spaces on the main floor. The renovated center will provide space for:
- Physical Therapy
- Occupational Therapy
- Speech Therapy
- Pediatric Therapy Services
The new rehabilitation center will be designed to support patients at every stage of recovery, including seniors working to maintain mobility, adults recovering from surgery or illness, and children receiving therapy services.
Rehabilitation services are expected to be completed in summer 2028.

Restore and Renew is about more than new construction. It is about creating spaces that better support the people who use them.
From routine healthcare visits and behavioral health services to rehabilitation and recovery, the project will provide updated, accessible spaces for patients, families, providers, and staff.

New tax benefits for charitable giving in 2026
Recent federal tax law changes may provide additional tax benefits for charitable giving beginning in 2026. Individuals who take the standard deduction may be eligible to deduct up to $1,000 in cash charitable contributions, while married couples filing jointly may be eligible to deduct up to $2,000 in cash charitable contributions, subject to IRS requirements. Taxpayers who itemize deductions may also continue to receive charitable deduction benefits under applicable federal rules.
As a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization, the Stewart Memorial Foundation gratefully accepts a variety of gifts, including cash, stock, grain, IRA Qualified Charitable Distributions, donor-advised fund grants, estate gifts, and beneficiary designations.

Giving Options
Bequests
When you name Stewart Memorial as a beneficiary in your will, you help the hospital continue its tradition of excellence. Bequests (gifts made by will) have been a major part of Stewart Memorial’s philanthropic support for more than half a century. Through their wills and estate plans, grateful patients have helped the hospital advance medical care for all patients.
Gifts of Retirement Assets
For a tax-wise strategy, you can name Stewart Memorial as a beneficiary of your individual retirement account (IRA), then use the assets not subject to income tax to make gifts to your heirs. You can reduce taxes and leave more for your family and favorite charitable organization by creatively using retirement assets. Surprisingly, as much as 70% of a retirement account can be lost needlessly to estate and income taxes.
Gift Annuities
Stewart Memorial gift annuities are a very attractive investment alternative. For a minimum gift of $10,000, you will receive a tax deduction and either you or the person you name as the annuitant will receive generous quarterly returns. After the lifetime of the annuitant, the gift portion of the annuity becomes available to Stewart Memorial.

Setting Up A Trust
Trusts are available in a variety of forms, each offering its own benefit to the donor. We would be happy to provide more details to help you determine if a charitable trust is the right option for you.
Donor-advised funds
Donor-advised funds are funds that are set up at a financial institution to make charitable donations. Donor advised funds are a way for people to make charitable donations while also receiving tax benefits.
Cash Gifts
A cash gift is the most efficient way to invest in local healthcare. You can make a cash gift using the enclosed slip, through the online donation portal, or with monthly giving.
