2022 New Year Baby Arrives at Stewart Memorial Community Hospital


The first baby of 2022 at Stewart Memorial Community Hospital in Lake City has arrived. Hank William Sundblad was born to Luke and Madi Sundblad of Storm Lake. The New Year baby entered the world at 10:13 AM on Monday, January 3rd, weighing 8 pounds, 6 ounces and is 21.75 inches long. He was delivered by Dr. Susan Hornback, Board Certified Family Practice and Obstetrics Physician. He was welcomed by his grandparents: Phil and Brenda Sundblad, Cari O’Brien and Gary Schenkelberg, and Rick O’Brien.

To celebrate the birth of the New Year baby, the family was given a basket full of gifts. Items included diapers and baby wipes donated by Stewart Memorial Community Hospital. Gifts given by SMCH employees included stuffed animals, onesies, socks, stroller organizer, hooded towels, sound machine, baby wash and lotion, receiving blankets, nursery decor, burp cloth, bibs, toys, a piggy bank, and book.
