Emergency Care

At Stewart Memorial Community Hospital, we understand that minutes matter in an emergency. Our emergency department features lifesaving technology and is staffed by emergency certified physicians and providers as well as experienced nurses and emergency department techs. All of our registered nurses have advanced training in adult and pediatric emergency procedures and trauma care.

Our emergency department team is ready around the clock to respond to everything from minor injuries to life-threatening emergencies. Our staff is trained to stabilize critically ill or injured patients and, when necessary, prepare them for rapid transport. Stewart Memorial is parterned with LifeFlight to ensure fast, 24/7 air ambulance service for patients who need advanced care beyond our facility. This partnership allows us to extend lifesaving care beyond our doors.

We understand that visiting the ER can be a stressful and unexpected experience. That’s why we’re committed to providing timely, compassionate, and high-quality care while keeping you and your loved ones informed throughout the process. We will serve you in the timeliest manner possible and keep you informed as we diagnose and treat your medical needs.

 

Level IV Trauma Center

Stewart Memorial Community Hospital is a Level IV Trauma Center and certified by the Iowa Department of Public Health, Bureau of EMS. This designation identifies our ability to provide trauma services and arrange transport of patients to a hospital equipped to provide specialized services when needed.
