While a patient at Stewart Memorial Community Hospital, your medication needs will be supplied by the hospital pharmacy. Nicole Kock, PharmD, is the hospital pharmacy manager and is assisted by Megan Snyder, PharmD, Marti Huser, RPh, Deb Daniel, CPhT, and Morgan Cavanaugh, CPhT. The pharmacy staff works closely with the medical staff and nursing services to meet all inpatient needs. In addition to providing medications, the pharmacists review medication profiles for drug interactions and side effects. The hospital pharmacy also provides medications for the infusion room, such as chemotherapy. The pharmacists are a drug information resource for both inpatient and outpatient services, including home care, hospice, and cardiac rehab. Stewart Memorial Community Hospital has a pharmacist on staff every day, Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm and Saturday and Sunday, 8:00 am to 12:00 pm. After hours pharmacy coverage is provided by telepharmacy.
Stewart Memorial Community Hospital also provides retail pharmacy services at four locations to serve you. Community Pharmacies in Lake City, Gowrie, Lake View, and Rockwell City provide friendly, courteous and professional service to meet your prescription needs. Expert patient counseling is provided with each new prescription as well as a thorough review of existing medications for side effects and interactions. Community pharmacies offer free deliveries and mail service, honor most insurance cards, and keep records for tax and insurance purposes. For your convenience, immunizations can be given by our trained pharmacists. Because your health is our priority, we also offer medication synchronization to save you time and money. The medication synchronization program allows the pharmacists to adjust the quantities of your prescriptions to enable you pick up all of your medications at the same time.
