Lynette Nesbitt Recognized By Teammates for Exceptional Care

Lynette Nesbitt recently received the SMCH Culture Champion Award for the incredible kindness and devotions she gives her patients. Lynette has served as a CMA at McCrary-Rost Clinic: Lake City for almost three years. Two of Lynette's coworkers submitted the nomination and she was brought to tears when it was read to her aloud.

CNA Klay Birkey said:

"I have experienced Lynette as a patient and as a coworker -- and for both she is always so thoughtful and understanding. She listens to me when I need to talk through any issues or problems I may be having. It doesn’t matter how busy she is, she stops and listens, and gives her full attention.

Recently, I had called the office with a health concern and she was able to fit me in right away and assure me that everything was going to be okay. During the course of this ordeal, I talked and cried with her many times because I was so scared and didn’t know what was wrong.

She consistently reassured me and even found me in the hallways to check on me. I was told I was going to need surgery and when Lynette heard this, she specifically sought me out at work to talk. Her sweet nature really helped me feel better and I knew she was looking out for me.

Being in healthcare, we sometimes forget what it is like to be on the receiving end and what it feels like to be a scared patient. But for me, Lynette helped calm my fears and made me feel important. My experience may have been completely different if I hadn’t had Lynette by my side through every step. I cannot thank her enough for her amazing care and friendship through all of this. Overall, Lynette is just a good, kindhearted person. SMCH is lucky to have her!"

Lexie Badding, PA-C, said:

"Lynette and I started our careers at SMCH around the same time – it was her first CMA position, and my first position as a PA. We were paired together in Pod C and shared the nervousness and excitement of a new job. We both had a lot to learn and had a lot of room to grow.

As the months became years, we found our routine and complimented each other well. Lynette started as the newest member of the nursing staff in Pod C and over the span of a few years, she was the only original full-time nurse we had in Pod C from when we both started. She quickly become the “go-to” girl for training new staff and answering questions -- and she is always willing to help wherever she is needed.

She welcomes both patients and coworkers with a smile, a laugh, and treats everyone like they are family. She is always willing to come in early or stay late and is happy to stay with a patient over her lunch hour to ensure they don’t have to wait alone. When I walk into a room, our patient’s frequently compliment Lynette and emphasize how much they enjoy getting to talk to her on the phone and in the clinic.

Lynette is not only an excellent coworker, but an amazing friend. I am so grateful I have the opportunity to work alongside such a kind, caring, hard-working, thoughtful person. Thank you, Lynette, for everything you do. We are so blessed to have you as a part of our team!"
