 HeartSaver CPR AED -- $55.00

This course is for anyone in the community with little or no medical training that would like to be able to recognize cardiac arrest, get emergency care on the way quickly, and help a person until EMS arrives, perform CPR and use an AED. This course is the same as the HeartSaver First Aid CPR AED course but without the First Aid.

Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) -- $155.00

Throughout this course, you'll learn to assess, recognize and provide high-quality care to pediatric patients experiencing life-threatening medical emergencies, including shock, cardiac and respiratory events, as well as how to provide care after the return of spontaneous circulation (ROSC) during a resuscitation effort. You'll also challenge your critical-thinking and problem-solving skills, and help improve your teamwork skills to provide better patient care. THIS IS A TWO-DAY COURSE.

Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC) -- $375

This course prepares you with the knowledge, critical thinking skills and hands-on training needed to provide high-quality, trauma nursing care. After completing this two-day course, you will be able to properly assess and implement evidence-based interventions to improve outcomes for your patients.

Oh Baby! 

Topics covered include: pre-term labor, stages of labor, interventions during labor/delivery (including induction), pain relief options, Cesarean birth, hospital procedures during and after labor, breastfeeding, care of the newborn (i.e. bathing, diapering, etc.), infant CPR

Big Brother/Big Sister

Topics covered include: ways brother or sister can help mom and dad with the new baby (diaper changes, baths, etc.), how to hold your new baby, what to do when baby cries, how you can play with baby. Participants will also have snack time, read a book about newborns, design a craft for the new baby, and take a tour of the OB department.

Breastfeeding Basics

Topics covered include: what to expect with feeding your baby in the first few weeks, breastfeeding benefits, skin-to-skin, what a good latch looks like, breastfeeding positions, when your milk will “come in,” tips for a fussy baby, hand expression & pumping, postpartum diet, and troubleshooting breastfeeding problems.

Moms Connect Lake City

Moms Connect is a casual, virtual support group for moms of all ages and stages based out of Stewart Memorial Community Hospital & McCrary-Rost Clinics in Lake City.

We post the latest information on all things "baby" and offer support to moms in the area. This group meets twice monthly on Zoom for an unstructured conversation about whatever comes up! You're invited to join us the first Monday of each month from 5:00 - 6:00 pm and the last Friday of each month from 10:00 - 11:00 am. These meetings are come-and-go as your schedule allows - and of course, babies welcome!
